“First period, it’s tough to make the first pass when your friggin’ ass is up in the air, from getting knocked on it.’’ – Darryl Sutter
Due to a scheduling glitch, the Blues had 10 days off since their last game.
How come the Kings barely beat Columbus but the Blues didn’t show any signs of being rusty? Hitchcock > Sutter?
That goaltender Montreal didn’t think was worth shit had lost just ONCE in regulation in 16 games.
Great. THIS is gonna be a fun game to watch while I’m yelling at the kids.
The Blues started the 1st period by hitting the Kings with two by fours and black jacks. They outshot the Kings 10-0 at one point and the Kings failed to call themselves a hockey team for the last 13:11.
The 7 million dollar man should buy Jonathan Quick a Subaru to apologize for the Mark Reynolds style whiff he attempted on Matt D’Agostini that would eventually cost them the game, the two points, the division title and the president’s trophy.
If ever, I mean EVER there was a reason why Dustin Brown should never, I mean NEVER EVER EVER see the light of the 1st line again, it was his inability to be a finisher and L-I-F-T the puck over that goaltender Montreal didn’t think was worth shit’s pads. Carter would have. Parise would have. Scott Gomez could have.
I thought I was having peyote flashbacks for the rest of the game as the lines kept switching like one of those psychedelic kaleidoscopes you used to have as a kid. Penner was on the right… no, the left… then he’s with Clifford… no, Richards… no, Lewis… no, Robitaille…
With the Blues having allowed only 2 goals in the 3rd period in the last 8 or 10 games (I forget what the hell I heard) I went and wrote a poem, strategically placed my garden gnomes and still had time to gently wash my penis before the game mercifully ended.
Looking at the positive side, the Kings didn’t do this at Staples Center.
Looking at the positive side, at least the Ducks didn’t win.
Is it me or do the following players have absolutely no shot of playing in the post-season…
- Brad Richardson
- Trevor Lewis
- that Hunter guy
R.I.P. Ben Gazzara –
Fricken Cassavetes films are genius
umm, if it doesnt work for columbus, why would it work for us? and lose kopi?……..NO
You guys are all high if you want to trade our best center since Wayne. Kopitar is by far the best player in this organization and some of you guys blast him. Why? I think he is still injured. Yes, I am disappointed with a lot of Kings this year but I do stand by my team. All we need is a forty goal scorer and we win our division. Lets not trade away our team…lets just find the missing piece.
Kopitar isn’t still injured. He’s just a second line center bring sold as a first line center. Much the same way Dustin brown belongs on the third line. It’s one thing for the fans to think kopitar is a first line center. It’s another thing for management to think it. There paid to know these things and the obviously don’t know shit. Kopitar, Brown and JJ are our best trade bait now and we ought to use them.
Couldn’t agree more. Brown’s attempt to score on that move was laughable. Kopitar is a good player and is first line material if he had decent guys to play with. Brown on the other hand.. take the C off of his jersey already. He’s a nice role player, but so was Simmonds (and now Simmonds is starting to look the better player.) Doughty? What can be said? Could it ever be said that he was “that” good? One year doesn’t constitute a thing. Oh man.. The Kings might as well trade Quick while his stock is at its highest – If the Queens make the playoffs, the Redwings or Canucks will violate them like Adriana Lima going through secondary inspection through airport security.
RIP Ben Gazzara – While no Peter Falk, he played an interesting character in The Killing of A Chinese Bookie.
3 clear chances where if our players just lifted the puck it would have been a goal. could never understand how these “professional” hockey players can’t just lift it a few inches.
I’m tired of Doughty, JJ, and Kopitar. Three pussies. Kopitar is as lackadaisical as they come, Doughty peaked early in his career and will never be that good of a d-man, JJ is at an age and NHL experience where he either has it or doesn’t (he doesn’t).
Hey Matt, do you still think trading Kopitar for Backes is horrible idea? Backes is a million times the player Kopitar is. He fights, hits, scores goals, is a vocal leader, and a leader by example.
I have news for you buddy. Kopitar is a glorified 2nd line center. Trade him for Backes, Doughty for Webber, and JJ and Bernier for Rick Nash.
halak beat the kings. he alone. no play by doughnuts or pancakes cost them the game. they got beat by a over played puck from quick. there is your 7 million dollar mistake.
So glad I had to work, at least I am $48 riche!r, oh but I do need to buy a new radio some how it flew of the table….
Let’s Go Kings
Crazy. Same thing happened to my remote. What is going on?!?
