(of pace or intensity) sustained; unremitting
With Chicago’s backs against the walls, the Kings lined them up and shot them.
They had no answers:
The Blackhawks had TEN SHOTS throughout half the game before scoring on their 11th.
The Kings came out firing like a 22 year old virgin (too soon?) And Jake Muzzin’s confidence keeps getting better and better. FINALLY, the Kings scored first and I literally giggled like a little girl.
Two minutes later, Duncan “I’m nominated for a Norris Trophy and Doughty isn’t” Keith turned the puck over worse than a Motel 6 chambermaid changes sheets and Kopitar’s dish to Gaborik (what the hell was he actually DOING in front of the net in the first place? THAT is instinct!) was a thing of beauty and throughout America and Canada, 15 GM’s who DIDN’T grab him at the deadline were throwing their Labatts at their Samsungs.
Taking a 2-0 lead into the dressing room was as delicious as a Farrell’s ice cream nacho’s
And while the Dodgers were on the verge of throwing their 2nd no hitter, a miracle happened. Dustin Brown actually put a puck in the net. The joy that disembogued from his body said it all. Of course later in the game he missed a wide open net… but hey, we won… I’ll leave the 7 million dollar man alone at least for one paragraph.
Were you thinking the same thing I was thinking? Don’t let Chicago score a late 1st period goal to give them any momentum going into the 2nd.
Chicago not only didn’t come out with any momentum, they stupidly left Crawford in the game to take more abuse from the fans. It also didn’t help that minutes after yet another verbal cascade from the sold out arena reigned down upon him, Drew Doughty gave the Kings a delicious 4-0 lead.
“The Jinx” turned the puck over to Brandon Saad and the shutout was over. That’s right, “The Jinx”
The key was staying out of the penalty box which the Kings did. Not that it mattered since Jamie Kompon’s horrendous power play on the road is now ONE of 27. Why the long face, Jamie?
Chicago resulted to desperation by putting Kane and Toews together.”We had a tough time against them” Sutter smiled. Chicago’s best effort was at the end of the 2nd period where they had a sustained forecheck and Quick was at his best. Willie Mitchell, thank God you’re back.
The 3rd period was pretty much the equivalent of football’s “prevent defense” and that usually never works in football and it didn’t work tonight as Chicago put the pressure on early, but the Kings came right back, started throwing pucks to the net and then had 3 minutes of empty net.
Yay! One game away from another trip to the finals.
Chicago was down 3-1 to the Red Wings last season so I’m not getting excited just yet.
Again, only 33 hits as opposed to the usual 50.
No-ShowTime still hasn’t scored although he had an assist tonight. I love that he tries to act like Ovechkin and do too much. The defense was over him like cops to Rodney King.
Once again the Kings DOMINATED the dots winning 33 of 57
Muzzin had a goal and was -1 – LOL
Mike Richards only had 7 shifts per period for a total of 10:30 – Um, Mike, we’re gonna need a lot more than that if we’re gonna be champions again… especially while you’re earning 7 million dollars this season doing it. It’s bad enough Dustin Brown is having a Mike Richards like season.
Handzus only played 4 minutes? Wow!
It would be nice to finish these suckers off in 5 the way they finished us off in 5 last season. And it would save us all a lot of fricken money!
But saving the best for last… THIS woman!!! God Bless!
