What a Home Opener!
Okay, lets get this out of the way:
- the Kings had more turnovers than a Holiday Inn
- they were sloppier than a virgin’s deflowering
- they were about as energetic as a boiled Energizer Bunny
Mr. Quick… some products you might want to look into tomorrow morning:
I can’t even begin to talk about that momentum killer, or the way Quick reacted to the fans who cheered him on his next save. No, it will be shown everywhere for the next week. I only hope several players put tape, hot melt glue, honey, in his locker stall. Mr. Mayor hopefully will snap a picture of it.
Sutter on the cheer fans gave Quick: “No, its not cruel. There isn’t anything to talk about. He dropped his stick. What do you want to talk about? Tell him not to drop his stick? It’s his job to stop the puck, so he obviously thought he didn’t need his stick.”
After three games are these the same Kings that were physical against San Jose and St Louis? If they are, could they take off their skirts and maxi-pads? Darryl Sutter, for the first time, had an entire pre-season to work with his players. Please explain to me how Dwight King deserves first line duty. We’re back to the Derek Armstrong on Ziggy Palffy’s line days.
Slump-itar must be hurt. I mean, he’s GOT to be hurt. He MUST be hurt.
Okay, giving credit where credit it due, one of the best goaltenders in the world actually acted like it, and had the help of two posts. But the Rangers are simply not a good team and the Kings, who only lost 4 times at home last year (including their season opener against Chicago) disappointed their 18,118 fans… unlike the Dodgers.
Drew Doughty spent 10% of the game in the penalty box. Smart.
At least we’re not the New York Giants.
The festivities: they didn’t introduce Blake, so I came home and booed my wife just for the hell of it. The new song? Meh. I’m still annoyed by the “rave” music they play during warmups, so I won’t be coming to any more warm-ups. My ears are still bleeding. Yard House was booked at 4:45 so I’ll never go there again, nor will I come downtown to spend money 3 hours before the game. See how these establishments just saved me money!
I was right (along with 3 million others) about Laviolette and I’m sure Terry Murray is shedding a tear he didn’t get hired. Craig Berube? I’m loving this Philadelphia disaster almost as much as I’m loving the New Jersey meltdown.
Pia Tostada sang the anthem again. She’s now 0-3 her last 3 outings. But no, I don’t want Davis Gaines. Not to be confused with Davis Payne.
So I get to the section I’ve been sitting in since Staples opened. There’s only 6 seats in the row as it buts up against the visitors tunnel. NOT ANY MORE!!!! I arrive to find that they’ve SHORTENED the tunnel by TWO ROWS and added 3 seats per row. Of course, what happens? During the game, the new seats completely collapse, taking the bolts with them, leaving the two Rangers fan having to find alternative seating.
Bet on San Jose against the Ranges tomorrow. THEY won’t lose at home.
