Eight Is Not Enough
How come Dead Things fans can never answer these two questions:
Who was your coach before Scotty Bowman?
And who was your captain before Yzerman?
You’re gonna be able to answer those questions because you’re a cheater and will look it up courtesy of Google. Come on, you know you cheat. You cheat at Words With Friends every day!
But ask a Dead Things fan and they look at you the way a homeless person with a sign at a freeway exit looks at you.
The Dead Things were playing their 2nd game in as many nights, and without the oft injured Zetterberg. The Kings had won 7 straight and still needed a win. The Red Wings really didn’t. The Kings also were coming off on an emotional outdoor gave Vs San Jose and could have easily suffered a letdown (which I expect they will now do vs Ottawa before their tilts against the Ducks and Winnipeg this weekend)
It was one of the best, fastest 1st periods I’ve seen in a long time.
The Kings actually scored on a power play which is about as rare as Brian Williams telling the truth and even better is the Kings not giving up a power play goal which is much like a Kardashian buying a size 2 pair of underwear at Victoria’s Secret. I’m not sure what that means but I enjoyed typing it. The power play late in the 3rd is what I’d love to see for the rest of the season.
35 career shutouts for Quick. Thank you Dave Taylor. You didn’t do much right, but drafting Quick was one of them.
Drew Doughty actually got to play LESS than 30 minutes!
The Kings honored Tony Granato whose speech was longer than some of those at the Academy Awards. I kept waiting for music to play him off. Then he went and coached losers.
Thank you Edmonton! Not only did they defeat the Wild ON THE ROAD, the also moved within ONE POINT of NOT being able to draft Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel and that makes me happier than Kate Upton’s bra.
Richards for Eriksson?
Boston has to make the playoffs. Not easy to do when your #1 center is down for a month. Eriksson has been hurt and completely underwhelming for Boston since the Tyler Seguin trade. He has another year left at 4.5 million. It’s unlikely Boston takes on Richards’ contract but this is the same team that traded away Seguin AND Joe Thornton so I’ll reserve judgement on the “never say never” criteria.
Jordan Nolan signs a 3 year deal. So where does this lead Andy Andreoff? Likely changing teams before Monday? The Kings have played 59 games, Andreoff has played 12. What does THAT tell you, especially when Shore has already played 13
Kings Scouts on hand tonight at the Oilers/Wild Game. Just Sayin’
Yandle isn’t going anywhere – all this talk about Yandle going here, Yandle going there. Arizona GM Maloney is not an idiot and he’s not going to give him away. He’s a guy you BUILD around along with OE Larsson. No, Yandle is going to be the highest paid defenseman in the league come July 1st
