Encore une fois, nous vous battre!
The last time the Kings played Montreal, they…
- waxed them like a pink taco
– beat them so bad they needed a shoehorn to put their hats on
– nailed them so bad even Jesus was impressed
Before I finished eating some indian food that looked like mud and tasted like wall spackle, Jake Muzzin showed Lombardi why he shouldn’t trade for a defensive defenseman.
For the 2nd time in as many games, a Kings player scored for the other team, otherwise Quick would have his 3rd shutout in a row. They credited the goal to P.K. Subban, whom I dislike, much like plaque.
But then the Kings did something they only do about as often as my wife does throwing me some sex. Score on the power play. Fantastic movement and a great finish by Jeff Carter.
The Habs were like your mother-in-law. Overstaying their welcome, annoying the shit out of you, not stepping in front of garbage truck!
The Kings played one of their best defensive games of the year. They still lack some size, especially at center on the 4th line (dumb letting Carcillo go, just dumb… but I didn’t miss Fraser) Quick made his usual timely saves and I can finally BREATHE!
Five straight. Most excellent.
Now on to bitching about Lombardi until he makes a deal that will no longer have me bitching at Lombardi
In an interview with Jon Rosen, Lombardi suggests we look at the deadline deals over the past 4 years to see if they had an impact. He suggests they haven’t. So… I took a look.
Chicago Blackhawks acquired Michael Handzus from the San Jose Sharks for a 2013 4th round draft pick. They won a Stanley Cup. How the FUCK does Fox (and Sean O’Donnell MISS THIS???)
Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis made one notable move leading up to the 2013 deadline, sending defenceman Kevin Connauton and a 2013 second-round pick (Canadian junior goalie Philippe Derosiers) to Dallas for veteran centre Derek Roy. Roy helped the Canucks to a Northwest title with six points in 12 games.
Calgary traded Jay Bouwmeester to St Louis who lost in a fierce battle (again) vs the Kings. He solidified the Blues defense.
Pittsburgh acquires Morrow, Murray and Iginla for Joe Morrow, Two 2nd rounders and some scubs named Kenny Agostino and Ben Hanowksi – If Lombardi made these deals, we would have called him an Uber-genius.
Jaromir Jagr to the team that made it to the SC Finals for Lane MacDermid, prospect Cody Payne
So basically, what Lombardi is saying is he made a gigantic fucking mistake with Matt “Healthy Scratch” Frattin and now we, as fans, are stuck with him and players playing out of position because he’s too much of an egomaniac to admit he made a huge mistake! FUCK!
Patrick O’Sullivan was just like Tyler Toffoli. Untouchable. Would never be dealt. When he was traded for Justin Williams, the place went berserk. My friend Marc even called it one of the worst trades ever made, saying “O’Sullivan will score 50 in this league one day” – He never scored anywhere close to that for the rest of his career.
I’m not saying Toffoli is in the same category as O’Sullivan, but we also fawned all over Oscar Moller and Pavel Rosa and the list goes on and on.
Speaking of Williams, why does the Mayor keep insisting he’s as gone as the wind? Did he screw somebody’s wife or something? (Like THAT never happens) – Frankly if it brings Kelser to the Kings I’m all for it but that’s about as big a pipe dream as me winning an Academy Award.
Lombardi would have made his deal already. Doesn’t look like anything is going to happen and the Ducks wind up with Vanish and San Jose winds up with McDonald.
