Enjoy Your Life
I don’t think Rich Peverly knows it yet, but he’s likely played his last NHL game.
What if you weren’t allowed to do the thing you loved to do best? It just ended. Just like that. Everything you’ve trained for your whole life. Your career. Gone.
Remember a few years back when Detroit Red Wings Jiri Fischer’s heart STOPPED and he collapsed much in the same way Peverley did? He never returned to play hockey. He has some thoughts HERE
In 2011, Atlanta’s Freddy Meyer collapsed during a game
He never played in the NHL again. (Although he is an assistant coach with the Manchester Monarchs)
NY Rangers 1st round pick Alexi Cherepanov died during a game.
Former Minnesota Wild player Sergei Zholtok collapsed and died on his way to the locker room during the lockout year of 2004-05
Bill Masterson is the only NHL player to die due to an on-ice incident – he was 29
Chuck Hughes is the only NFL player to die during a game.
I remember umpire John McSherry died on opening day
You cheered up now?
I worry for John Tortorella. 7 goals in 1 period and he didn’t melt like the wicked witch of the west?
Anyone have the name of the hypnotist Trevor Lewis used recently?
So Toronto plays in Anaheim last night (and shockingly wins), flies to San Jose then BACK to L.A. to meet the Kings tomorrow in a 3rd game in 4 nights – At least we get Bernier. He’s been seeing about 40 shots per game. I hope Gaborik finally scores.
Can someone explain to me why they call it a “cardiac event?” It’s a fucking HEART ATTACK isn’t it? Jiri Fischer’s heart STOPPED. That’s a heart attack, not a damn “event” for crying out loud. That’s like when you’ve blacked out drunk saying to your wife you had an “alcoholic event” You were DRUNK!
