Game 20 Right Around The Corner
I was torn tonight. I couldn’t decide who I hate more, Anaheim or Vancouver. I decided I hated Vancouver more so even though they’re ahead of the Kings in the standings, I was rooting for the… I can’t even write it.
WTF is wrong with the Sharks? I wonder if McLellan could be the next coach to get the ax (Larry Robinson takes over again?) Oh, wait… they’ve only lost TWICE in regulation all season? Nevermind.
Just great… Cody Hodgson and Matt Moulson are both benched after the 6 minute mark of the 3rd period Friday night against Anaheim, which gives them many many hours to think about how bad they were right before they face the Kings who will likely be without Kyle Clifford (look for Pearson to be recalled… too many rookies on the team scares me). Colin Fraser may have to be waived in order to make room for Pearson. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone picked him up.
What was great about last nights 5-1 drubbing of Vancouver is how much shit they talked in Canada about how bad the Canucks were. They didn’t do any better against the Ducks tonight either.
When is Colorado going to come down to earth?
The Blues, Chicago, San Jose and Colorado have only lost TWICE in 15-18 games
How weird is THIS: Detroit and Boston have both scored 45 goals. Detroit has given up 48 and Boston only 30, yet Detroit leads Boston by 1 point.
How the hell is Tampa Bay in 1st place?
How the hell does New Jersey have 5 wins?
Edmonton looks really bad. Bryzgalov? Really?
In case you were wondering: Marc Andre Cliche has 3 assists in 10 games, Thomas Hickey has 1 goal and 3 assists in 18 games and Colten Teubert has 0 goals and 2 assists and 54 PIM’s in 9 games playing in a country where they don’t speak much English.
Since Dean Lombardi has never made a deal in November, and game 20 will come Friday against New Jersey, I don’t really see a pressing need for anything right now other than a scoring left winger. If Kyle Clifford was trade bait, he’ll likely be on the shelf until the Kings return from the East and Jarret Stoll is also coming off of an injury. Trevor Lewis is the only guy on the Kings PK keeping the puck out of the net… so what’s to trade? Let Vey and Toffoli and Pearson work their magic and take it from there. But knowing Lombardi, he won’t like 3 rookies in his lineup.
