Explain something to me…
Wayne claims the Coyotes, who are basically on the verge of bankruptcy, owed him 7 million dollars.
The NHL decides to pay it.
With whose money?
They obviously want to keep “The Great One” happy and it seems to me like #99 wasn’t going to do ANYTHING for hockey until he was paid.
He got paid.
Tim Lie-weekly is making noise about bringing Wayne to Toronto.
To do what?
It’s not like Toronto needs to sell out the arena, or boxes… so Wayne is gonna get paid 3-4 million to shake hands? Even the bean counters have to say “no” to this one, Mr. Lie-weekly.
There’s also talk of #99 going to New York to possibly take over for GM Glen Sather.
So… he was an awful coach, has no managerial experience and the conglomerate that is MSG is going to name him GM? No wonder the Rangers are always on the outside looking in. Oh, and good way to piss off Mark Messier.
How about going back to Edmonton?
Again, they don’t need to sell out the arena and what kind of discipline is he going to throw the kids way?
The Kings don’t need him either as Staples is in the throws of sellout after sellout.
Wayne couldn’t help put seats in Phoenix, how is he going to help put seats in Florida where they don’t even know who he is?
I love the guy, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t understand what all the fuss is about right now.
You heard it here first… Lewis to Toronto. (and it’s just my instinct so don’t read into it and don’t go posting on some stupid rumor site that this big mouth said it was done. It’s just my speculation, just like you have yours)
