Habs Stick Around – Will Chicago?
“The King” got torched like a Salem witch tonight. Let’s not forget how Jonathan Quick was roasted like an almond against San Jose not once, but twice.
Did the Kings watch tonight’s Rangers meltdown and take notice?
We’ll find out tomorrow.
While the Rangers and Habs make regular contributions to Stephan Quintal’s suspension video’s, the Kings and Blackhawks have yet to have a fight. It’s almost like this series has been too nice. Too gentlemanly. They don’t have a single misconduct, major or double minor BETWEEN them. It’s kind of like a British Polo match. Anyone have any Grey Poupon?
It’s hard to imagine keeping “No-Showtime” off the scoresheet, so the Kings have to believe in Darryl Sutter’s 3-2 prognostications and pound that drunk taxi driver beating midget into rice pulp.
Let’s hope Chicago doesn’t try and “cheat” their way into power plays the way Montreal did tonight. They finally got caught and it helped the Rangers tie the game.
Ray Ferraro said in last nights broadcast that this team was “better” than the 2012 Championship team. Ferraro was a shitty player and a shitty fortune teller.
THAT 2012 team only lost FOUR games and were DOMINANT on defense thanks to Mitchell AND “The Piece”. Their road record was nothing short of remarkable. (Short and remarkable? NOT Gary Betteman) This season… to be honest with you I really don’t care because they beat Anaheim in their crib in game 7.
As much as I like creaming into my towel/jersey/whatever the fuck they’ve been handing out at home games watching Toffoli and Pearson, Playoff Penner was a beast and the Kings beat the “win” out of their opponents.
When the Kings won the cup they had 57 goals. They already have 61. They only gave up 30. They’ve already given up 47.
The Jack Johnson “wide right” award goes to the Los Angeles Kings who also lead all playoff teams with MISSED shots with 251 (the lead the league in 2012 playoffs too)
The Kings are tied with Boston for #1 with 629 face-off wins (all by Stoll) vs 550 losses (all by Richards)
The “Thank You For Leaving” award goes to Jamie Kompon as the Kings have 16 post season power play goals.
The “You’re NOT Worth 7 Million Dollars” goes to Mike Richards who has scored 2 goals on 33 shots. Meanwhile Gaborik has scored 10 times on 53 shots. Can you say Linden Vey next season? Richards will only fetch a 2nd rounder and a mid-level prospect from Florida… or Toronto.
Jarret Stoll has played 10 games on the road. He has ZERO POINTS (and is a -3 while Pearson is a +7)
Tanner Pearson has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) – ALL at even strength
8 of Gaborik’s 10 goals have come at even strength
Jeff Carter has taken only ONE minor penalty – Drew Doughty has taken 9
Dustin Brown has only scored 3 times on 45 shots (6.7%… worth every penny of the 7 million he’s due)
Dwight King has 1 goal on 24 shots. Not as bad as Marian Hossa’s 2 goals on 60 shots.
Jonathan Toews has 4 GWG. “No-Showtime” has 3. Stop THEM, you stop the bleeding.
Peter Regin: 18 faceoff wins, 35 faceoff losses. More Regin!
Quick needs a shutout.
