I’m Worried about Sochi
I’m gonna make the call right now.
The NHL ain’t gonna go.
I seriously question the security over there – so do NHL players.
“I think it’s more for people that are going to be outside of the Olympic park,” said the Wild’s Ryan Suter. “I feel like the athletes are going to be safe and taken care of. You just don’t know when you get outside there.”
The politicians are worried.
“There’s never been a games I know of that have been so targeted for specific threats as you’re seeing in Sochi,” Mitt Romney said. “At the same time, the level of security preparations appears to be at an unprecedented level. So I think people can recognize that the hard sites will be safe. The athletes will be safe, spectators when they’re in the venues will be safe. But it’s the soft places you can’t be 100% certain will be entirely safe but my guess is the Russians have done everything humanly possible to protect the games.”
All its gonna take is ONE incident. ONE. The terrorists know this.
You can argue all you want. “The terrorists win” philosophy.
Yeah? So? Better than being dead.
Show of hands… how many trust the Russian security?
That’s what I thought.
“The level of cooperation from the Russian government on intelligence issues has also come under question from U.S. lawmakers.”
If YOU’RE thinking it, the players are thinking it.
“Reports surfaced this week that Russia was looking for three potential “Black Widow” suicide bombers, including one who may have slipped into Sochi before heavy security measures were put in place in January.”
The Vancouver Canucks’ Roberto Luongo and Daniel Sedin said they won’t be taking family members to Sochi due to security concerns.
Am I the only one to think they would become the Hanson Brothers?
Things would go back to where they were when the Kings WERE actually scoring
That’s four pretty solid lines.
How come WE see it and Sutter doesn’t?
Is he worried that the 3rd line are a bunch of rookies and not having the last change would be a burden?
Are we going to have to incur two more losses before he takes his head out of his ass and tries this against Pittsburgh? (of course, 2 of them have to be recalled first)
Vey and Pearson both scored Saturday night in an OT win and Vey had an assist in a SO loss last night.
In all honesty, the Kings are a tired bunch. THREE east coast trips. 5 games in 8 night (with two more on tap tonight and tomorrow), this is not the time to panic. Not yet. But if this shit continues after the Olympics…
I have a very good source (its nice being a casting director as everyone’s an “actor,”) who tells me the Kings are very, very interested in Matt Moulson but the “new” Sabres GM is “weighing all his options” and is “not in a hurry to move him,” despite the Kings heavy interest.
I still think the Kings wind up with Danny Briere (who played LW with Richards in Philly). I would lay odds on it.
Kings are also looking at a D-man in Florida (Jovo?)
I’m making the call:
Ryan Miller is traded to Pittsburgh
