9 goals in 2 games
Nothing more to say – Doughty and Stoll didn’t keep their promises
See you in September folks
Have a great summer.
Had to win one of the last 2. Kings won the last 2 game 7’s going into them with wins and momentum, Kings don’t have either of those. The Kings looked completely defeated skating off the ice. 7 points in the last 2 games for Kane, just plain stupid to let him get going. I am 20/80 on the Kings winning tomorrow.
And if they win?
That’s right you’ll be back on the train of hope… FAIR WEATHER FAN
I never give up hope (WIN OR LOSE) Go Kings Go
Quick is not a world class goalie. Sloppy play. We can’t match their speed so why not hit and play our game. Grind it out. Promises not kept. Next year.
It ain’t over till it’s over…we still got a game to play. Hawks right now playing well, score could be 6 or 7 to three, they blew some open nets. King’s team D is missing, some of the Kings are under performing….one goal games, wtf I’m not throwing em under the bus. Game seven’s..special…disappointing but we got life.
Hate to say it, but I think it is over for the year. Golden opportunity to win a second cup, and the Kings let it slip away. Two blown leads in the third period is just unacceptable. The Blackhawks have a very talented team, and Kane is on fire, and I do not see him coolling off for game 7. At least we beat the Ducks.
We look tired. This will be 21 games in three series. Lots of hits and ice time. Has any team ever won 3 game sevens on the road? They may have the momentum–but Sutter will have a plan and we have a boatload of talent. GKG
We have them right where we want them!!!!! Make it painless!!!!!!
Fuckin Muzzin. Did the same stupid ass play that he did in game one that ended up costing the Kings. I’m blaming him for tonight’s loss. Had he played his position (fucking defense) instead of pinching when a guy was behind him heading towards the Kings end, Kopi wouldn’t had to of fill in for him and probably wouldn’t
Have taken that penalty. It was pretty much down hill from there. My opinion of course.
Exactly! Muzzin screwed up that play, screwed up his coverage on the resulting goal, and then screwed up coverage when Kane fed, was it Sharpe? in the slot streaking in. Muzzin is the worst #2 defenseman in the NHL. Yes, he can score, but literally every other game he costs us at least one goal.
I’ll wait til’ game seven is lost before the funeral dirge. I made that mistake in the SJ series, I won’t make it again. I know, they should’ve won. But this team just hates the easy button. I wish
Sutter could have hypnotized them before this game into thinking it’s a game seven. They would have probably won. Quick is fine, his team left him hanging for most the game. That Kane goal was BS. I remember when this team played defense, not so much now. Let’s see if they can work their magic again in game seven (I mean the Kings by the way).
If only the Kings gave up as easily as you guys, the Hawks could for a few days before steamrolling the Rangers. Game 7 will be tough, but other than the last two game 7’s for LA, they aren’t going in off a win. CHI 4 – LA 2 in game 7.
I’m not blaming the refs one bit, but have you noticed in all three Hawks wins, the Kings’ were called for a phantom penalty and the Hawks scored on the ensuing PP. All three games the Hawks won, they scored like that. What a joke.
What happened to our PK from games 2-4.
Two third period leads blown. Today we had to kill 8 1/2 minutes and we are headed to the final, we couldn’t even do that. This team doesn’t want it.
As for placing the blame, why isn’t anyone blaming Kopitar? Our best player has how many goals this series?
And to those fans saying “at least we beat the Ducks”, who the hell cares? Anaheim still won the first Cup and they will always have that over us until we have more than them.
0g 4a +2 in this series
1 goal in his last 13
But most blowhards are gonna call out the third and 4th line guys.
Lewis was the problem again. Two games in a row he has late someone go down the middle wide open for ago. Game 5 in OT with Zeus and game 6 with Keith getting by him. Please someone put Vey in for him!!!
I thought Richards should have had Handzus not Lewis. May be the last time we see #10 in the lineup on Sunday. Quick needs to steal one. Kane needs to be punished every time he touches the puck. We don’t seem to have an answer for Saad. Damn they’re a good team but I will watch Sunday and we can do it! Easy to be a pessimist (although I can’t blame those who are). Matt, please call out some more Kings so they can score on Sunday. Your timing in that regard has been impeccable.
That was Lewis’ guy NOT RICHARDS!
Play Kane with kid gloves and this is what happens. He should be sidelined with a concussion by now with how many hits we should have been laying on him. We just let him roam the ice with no price to pay. Take penalties, fine, as long has he can’t play from injury. That’s Chicago got past the blues, Seabrook had to take out their #1 center. They play dirty to win, we need to as well.
Also Quick… Wtf.
i am actually surprised kings even got 3 wins with quick in the net. the most overrated golie in nhl just cos of his 2012 playoffs stat (a byproduct of a dominating team). softies/drunkness/sleepyness/****ness are imho his signature moves.
For those of you complaining about Lewis. Look at the brigjhtside, he is signed for two more years.
geez, people,, we still have another game to play…..if they fuck it up, then throw them under the bus, but until then……
It’s never over, and I still say we have the better team. Only gave up 3 fucking shots in the 3rd…just that 2 of them went in. Why can’t Mike Richards shadow Kane, or just ‘BOOTH” him and be done with it. The Kings just had to grind out the last 8 minutes and build a wall…BUT NOOO…they played run and gun with the Hawks, and got shot down. Where is the team that won 2,3,4?? Bring that team Sunday. J Quick…make a fucking statement!!!
Which team has already won two Game 7s on the road this season? That is the Kings’ M.O.
Hey everyone just relax, we were down to SJ and Ana and still won the series. We all knew at the start of this series that it would go 7, doesn’t matter how we got here. Stop complaining about Lewis, King and Muzzin. These guys cap hits are around $1 mill, the guys that need to step up are the ones making the big money like Brown, Kopitar and QUICK who have all been MIA this series. WE have something they don’t and that’s Mr. Game 7 Justin Williams, so have some faith in these mother fuckers cause I DO!
You can’t win every game 7.
Fuck all of you. Theres one more game, and its a 50-50 toss. The Kings smothered Sharks and Ducks in last 2 game 7’s, I understand you cant win every game 7 but come on people. Kings hit huge speedbumps in the first 2 series and this is no different, they can overcome it. Fuck all of your negative attitudes…
It’s so easy to bash and throw this team under a bus every time they lose. And it is funny the same fuckers that are throwing them under a bus,the same fuckers that are saying to get rid of Brown, Richards, Greene,Mitchell, Lewis are the same fucking idiots that were praising them when the Kings were winning. YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF FAIR WEATHER FANS…Grow a set and support the fucking team and have some fucking faith for a change. WIN OR LOSE..I LOVE THE KINGS
NOW LET’s BEAT SOME HAWK ASS ON SUNDAY
Wait, it was 1 person’s fault the Kings lost? You leave Kane at the top of the circles alone with the look he has, he scores 90% of the time.
Way to back the team that you say you love so much. The Kings don’t need fans like you. But hey, I’m sure you’ll be blogging after game 7, especially if they win. Enjoy your sunner Matt. Me? Yeah I’ll be cheering and supporting the team that has now gone to 3 straight Western Conference finals. This is a battle of the top 2 teams in the league. This was bound to go 6-7 games. They are so evenly matched it’s not even funny.
I’m sure the loss last night has brought the ‘Kings are going to get swept’ crowd out after they lost the 1st 3 games to San Jose.
Kings are loaded with players that have proven their worth in game 7’s. I expect those players will show up in spades Sunday.
I guess the 2014 Kings don’t like the easy road and getting too much rest between series. Another back against the wall game tomorrow. I hope we pull it off but boy, what a deflating loss last night.
Boys, boys, boys….relax. We knew this was going 7 all along. I have done 2 things to ensure our victory. 1.) I bought a friend who is a Hawks fan a ticket to game 7 ($869 lighter in the wallet) but good karma. 2.) I have been doing voodoo all day (someone get Serrano a bucket of chicken.) 3.) If 2 weeks ago someone told you that we would be playing a game 7, I would have taken it! 4.) Mercury is opposed to the sun…not sure what that means, but my wife says its good for us.
Since Shaw came back, Coach Q has been winning by leaning heavily on 2 lines, 3 at best. It’s pretty hard to expose a Chicago’s lack of depth when they keep em off the ice. Kane looked drained in the post game interview. Look at the TOI for Chiraq, the 4th line is getting a full 5-6 minutes less ice time than LA’s. This has to have a physical impact eventually on Chiraq’s top players. If we can bring our physical game early and get a good start (for once) I can totally see LA winning. In all honesty, a game 7 at home for Chicago puts all the pressure on THEM to win it. Another benefit is that it’s Sutter’s turn to make strategic adjustments, we’ve seen Coach Q’s cards after he successfully shuffled his lines the last few games. We can make the necessary adjustments to close out the game if we have a lead. Whatever it is, shortening the bench, different looks Chiraq hasn’t seen on the PP, whatever… Sutter gets the last move, which is HUGE strategically. Both of our game 7’s this post season have been road games and our roster players have something like a 75-0 record in Game 7’s. There’s a lot to have confidence about here, now they need to FUCKING WIN.
Matt, we know each other, and I know how you bleed Kings purple; but I can’t believe what you’ve been writing. First, you were at the game, my wife and I had the benefit of all the instant replays and camera angles at home. When it was still 3-2, I was yelling at the screen for the Kings to stop laying back in reaction mode, looking as nervous as the Kings of the infamous Sharks playoff game of a few years ago when they lost the 4-0 lead. You could see the Hawks were going to score — on both goals. Take away time and space? NOT! Let Kane roam around like it’s a light practice day? C’mon, that’s not Quick’s fault. Even Mike Milbury, who’s not shy about calling guys out, said “you can’t stop what you don’t see.” and that’s what happened to “the best goalie” in the game.
Yeah, he gave up a bad goal. He also stopped a friggin 2 on 0 with Sharp pulling the trigger!
I’m as shocked and disappointed as anyone, but you of all people know that the fans are a part of “the team” and that the Kings don’t give up EVER. After all the horrible years, it’s really cool to expect nothing less than a Cup. That’s how I look at it. But it doesn’t always turn out that way. On the other hand, don’t count our boys out just yet (or come back as a happy camper if they win, after you’ve given up and insulted the best goalie in the world).
That was a tough two losses, but please don’t give up on this team. It is one of the gutsiest, bravest, tightest knit teams we’ve ever had. I’m calling it, Kings win tomorrow 4-2. Quick will stand on his head. I’ll be wearing my throwback Squaw Valley USA John Quick jersey and yelling at the top of my lungs, scaring the shit out of my neighbors at my house up here in the 206! GKG!
G7 represents only the second time in this series that Chicago has had the numbers advantage going into a game. The other game? G2.
We know how that ended.
