Kings Are Active in Trade Talks
According to just about everyone.
Dave Pagnota of the 4th Period:
“Lots of internal mgmt discussions going on with the Kings over potential moves as we inch closer to the deadline. LA could be fairly active.”
“Marty McSorley says Darryl Sutter wants Jarome Iginla”
Okay, okay, we all KNOW the Kings will be ACTIVE but will they actually DO anything this season?
Dean Lombardi has said on many occasion that if you look at the HISTORY of the trade deadline, how many players have actually made an IMPACT? And at what price? Your youth/future for a rental?
Lombardi promised us he was going to “build from within” and unlike Dave Taylor, he delivered (or got incredibly lucky).
So what are the Kings looking to upgrade? Some more BEEF on the 2nd line since Pancakes hasn’t scored but 2 goals the entire season. A little more beef on the 3rd line, 4th line? Seriously, what the hell do the Kings NEED? Maxime Talbot? To replace Dwight King?
The veteran leadership of Jason Cimera to replace Jordan Nolan?
Sure, I would love for Sutter to be reunited with Robyn Regehr. That guy hits like a freight train. But for a 1st round pick? I don’t think so. A 2nd round pick? That’s too much.
Knock on wood, the Kings have been relatively injury free and Brad Richardson and his 1.1 million dollar salary have been press box bound for 28 out of the 30 games so far this season.
So what do the Kings NEED?
