Kings Fart in an Elevator/Lombardi Scouts FLA
I’m not gonna bitch about Darryl Sutter starting Jonathan Quick in back-to-back games. It’s about as effective as my wife bitching to me about leaving pee stains on the toilet.
I’m not gonna whine about Sutter not playing Jeff Schultz while Willie Mitchell played in his 6th game in 9 nights after coming off of major knee surgery. Instead I’ll whine about the price of milk, bread, gas, and scat porn.
I’m not gonna rip into the Kings for not scoring at Dodger Stadium, scoring a lone winning goal in San Jose (against their back-up goalie) and then following that up with a goosegg against Phoenix’ back-up goalie. I’d rather rip into politicians who talk about women’s libido’s while they’re pumping the libido’s of women other than their wives.
Have you ever seen a cartoon where a character is hit so hard his arms and legs come off? That’s what happened when Doughty hit Oliver…. come on, three fucking names, dude? Well, anyway, that woke him up and he scored.
Then there’s something I don’t understand at all – FOUR FUCKING REFS, AGAIN… (and this is why I want a challenge flag)… Jordan Nolan absolutely destroys Chipchura. Paul “I Can’t Spell on Twitter” Bissonette jumps Nolan and the Coyotes get a power play?
NOW IM PISSED OFF – I’d pick up my bat but the old lady took it away when I wrecked the TV following the loss against the Red Wings.
Of course, Oliver TooManyFuckingNames-Larsson shoots and a tired Jonathan Quick lets in an admittedly bad goal.
The Kings are TIRED folks. Like drinking, drugging and fucking in Vegas all weekend and then having to go into work on Monday tired.
At least Pittsburgh’s coming to town. They should be good for about 7 goals for and 8 against. When’s the last time the Kings had a DOUBLE hat trick? Anyone? Beuller?
The Flyers come in for a day game, then Chicago.
We just might be out of the playoffs come the Olympic break.
The ONLY think that matters is where the Kings are on April 14th. 8th place? Fine with me. It means they stay home and play the Ducks. MUCH better than playing San Jose, or St Louyis, or especially Chicago.
I’m really, really OKAY with 8th place.
So there you have it. Talk to me after the Pittsburgh game. I will have purchased a new bat by then.
The ONE nice thing about having Rob Blake on your staff is teaching Drew Doughty how to hit like Rob Blake. See: Joe Thornton last night, Oliver Ekman-Larsson tonight
STOP SMOKING CRACK
Craig Custace said: “Heard rumors yesterday that the Kings have inquired about Thomas Vanek. A package of Tyler Toffoli, Martin Jones and a #1 pick was being bandied about. Is that about what the Islanders should expect to get in return for Vanek or could they get more?
Dear Craig. You didn’t hear shit.
Martin Jones? Who backs up Quick? Kevin Poulin?
Tyler Toffoli? Could be BETTER than Vanek when he matures.
Clifford and a MAYBE a #1 is it. End of story. Anything more than that is overpayment.
The Kings are NOT trading Dustin Brown, so just stop it. He’s the captain, he’s part of the “core” and to break up a team in the middle of the season is NOT Lombardi’s style unless he’s getting back a BETTER player with years left on his contract (thing Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter). The Islanders record since trading Moulson for Vanek? 17-22-5. So basically, that’s 17-27.
Lombardi’s attitude has ALWAYS been “Let these guys play through adversity. It makes them stronger.”
Yes, the Kings need a LW upgrade. They don’t grow on trees. There are only 5 teams that are NOT in the playoff hunt (Islanders, Florida, Buffalo, Calgary, Edmonton) There are 25 teams that ARE and are looking to TRADE with those FIVE teams.
The ONLY players I see moving are Clifford (who has NOT lived up to expectations), Frattin (who has been a grave disappointment), Fraser (if the Kings can get back someone tougher like a Zenon Konopka) and MAYBE Alec Martinez (don’t forget, Mitchell and Greene are BOTH UFA’s this next season)
Martin Jones is not going to be traded… unless a solid backup is coming back. The Islanders don’t have that. The Oilers don’t have that. If Calgary is willing to part with Giordano, then we’ll talk (they’re not).
LOMBARDI MAKING THE ROUNDS
Dean Lombardi missed the outdoor game because he was in Manchester checking out which prospects he believes aren’t a perfect “fit” for the Kings. Tonight he personally took in the Panthers/Bruins game tonight. Florida writers speculate he’s looking at Brad Boyes (why?) while the Panthers only have TWO decent left wingers in Fleishmann and Bergenheim (please, no Kopecky) but I did mention he likes Jovo… this was before I knew he was in Florida so I may have hit the nail on the head (i.e. got lucky!)
