Kings Lose Third Straight
There’s a story I’d like to share with you:
Growing up in New York there was a guy named Piggy who was the neighborhood bully. I would be playing soccer with my friends and Piggy would come around and take my ball. So one day, after about the 3rd time he stole my ball, I grabbed a broom handle and whacked him over the head with it. He chased me and beat the shit out of me.
About a week later, I was playing soccer again and Piggy comes along and takes my ball again. But this time I had banged a bunch of nails into a 2 x 4 and I cracked him across his neck. Blood squirted everywhere, an ambulance was called and I shat bricks that the police would come and haul me off to juvi. But that didn’t happen.
The next day, a bandaged Piggy walks up to me and says, “Barry, I’ll make you a deal. I won’t take your ball anymore if you don’t hit me in the neck with a 2 x4 filled with nails.”
Until the Kings bang some nails into a 2×4, the Blackhawks are gonna keep on taking their ball.
They did again tonight. With a backup goaltender who only manages to NOT suck when he plays the Kings. Vs everyone else, he looks like Milan Hnilicka.
Every team goes through a slump. San Jose did just a few weeks ago and the Kings are going through theirs. They’ll probably get waxed again tomorrow night vs the team that waxed them just a few days ago.
So which one of the Kings is gonna have to find the fattest, ugliest, puck bunny and lay the wood to her?
Dustin Brown’s miserable season continues as he could have scored on a penalty shot to tie the game. He didn’t, it deflated the Kings, and El Capitano sank with the ship.
This game showed me what the Kings desperately need. A bonafide sniper.
From the guys who announced the game and aren’t homers:
“If he (Kopitar) played on the Hawks, he’d be 6th in scoring”
“What a terrible giveaway by Kyle Clifford”
I’m just saying….
The Kings when Matt Greene is IN the lineup: 12-10
The Kings when Matt Greene is OUT of the lineup: 13-1-4
Westgarth traded again.
I guess you CAN go home, only they don’t WANT you.
Why would Calgary WANT him?
Since leaving the Kings, Westy played 12 meaningless games for Carolina and didn’t even have a fight! (huh?) I guess winning a Stanley Cup as a bench warmer and having an Ivy League degree = doesn’t feel like getting his face pounded in by the likes of John Scott anymore.
Don’t worry folks, the Kings are NOT interested in Michael Del Zotto. Period.
