Post Season Here We Come!
You know what I loved more than anything about this game?
No, it wasn’t the dancing kid
No, it wasn’t the four goals
No, it wasn’t the shutout or that shemale Shane Doan not scoring or clinching a playoff spot, or the girl with big tithes and no bra in section 118.
The shift after Tanner Pearson scored his goal, Martin Hanzal gave the kid a face wash/punch. The VERY NEXT SHIFT, Jordan Nolan knocked his fucking block off and send him to the “quiet room” for 10 minutes.
THAT was the kind of thing I absolutely love seeing from this team.
The fact that the Kings went out and absolutely spanked the shit out of a team completely desperate for a playoff spot and is now likely going to be caught by Dallas, was so beautiful, I literally came home and lubed myself.
There was some stat nerd on XM this morning talking about how the Kings were #1 in the league in “puck possession time” and the Coyotes offense disappeared faster than a Malaysian jetliner (Yes! Got one in!)
Martinez has replaced Muzzin on the 1st pp unit and tonight it paid immediate dividends as Doughty scored a beauty but still makes 6 million more dollars per season than Martinez. Martinez has been un-fricken-real. His pass in the slot to Gaborik late in the 2nd was outstanding (great save by Greiss)
The Key to winning? Staying the hell out of the penalty box! Only TWO tonight is a MAJOR reason the Kings dominated the way they did.
TWO power play goals? Has there been a news report about hell freezing over?
Lewis/Richards/Clifford is one badass 4th line.
Don’t look now but the Kings are just 3 points away from the injury riddles Chicago team. Could make a home ice difference come the conference finals (see, I’m being positive here!)
The Kings have won 1500 games. I’ve been to 679 of them.
The Kings have scored 4 or more goals in 17 of their 45 wins. I’m not a mathematician but I’d say that’s pretty good.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Kyle Clifford will not become the player or power forward the Kings envisioned him to be, but I’m still glad they didn’t trade him for Sam Gagner (not Gagne)
