Regehr Signs For 2 Years
That makes those two 2nd round draft picks feel a little better.
But now what?
Mitchell – Looks like his career is done. I’m told he’s got the same problem Alyn McAuley did where there’s no more cartilage left and its just bone on bone. At least the Kings will have the LTIL so his salary wont count against the cap.
Voynov – the RFA is gonna get PAID, but for how much? What P.K. Subban got?
Scuderi – “The Piece” has been the absolute GLUE to the Kings defense in the absence of Mitchell and all of the little things he does will be sorely missed and Jonathan Quick will not be as good either if the Kings don’t resign him. Sure he older and slowing and is probably looking at that “retirement deal” which he could get from another team (2 time SC champ). Hear he’s looking for a 4 year deal which the Kings won’t do. Too many good prospects in the pipeline.
Ellerby – also an RFA he likely could be a much cheaper alternative to Scuderi without the experience. But in a cap world, what are you gonna do?
Martinez – looks like he’s played his way right into Sutters doghouse. He’ll be a draft day throw-in
Deslauriers – had a solid season in Manchester and if you’ve ever seen him in person, he’s s brick shithouse with attitude. Will be interesting to see if he makes the club.
Bodnarchuk – He came up for less than a cup of coffee (tea?) earlier in the year but never got into a game. Kings like him
Campbell – He’ll be given every chance to make the club – tall, lanky, good puck movement… or so I’m told. I’ve never seen it. Lombardi loves this kid. We’ll see if Sutter shares that same feelings.
Forbort – I can almost guarantee that Lombardi and Co will want him to spend at least a year in Manchester to develop. It’s what the Red Wings and every other good team does. Overripen their D-men so they can step right in and contribute.
And in case you missed it…
