The Kings Fucked Again!!!
I’m glad I got all of my “Voynov Hasn’t Scored Since…” jokes out of the way last blog.
With nothing to play for, both teams went through the motions and I had a hard time keeping my eyes open. The only interesting thing was Andrew Campbell making his NHL debut which made me happy since I actually own an Andrew Campbell game worn pre-season jersey and now I can sell it as NHL PLAYER Andrew Campbell. I did spend half the period trying to figure out which D-man was scratched and couldn’t figure out it was Robyn Regehr until I cheated between periods.
The 1st period was so boring even referee Dennis LaRue was seen pounding down Red Bulls. I actually thought they would go the entire game without calling a penalty.
Slava Voynov ended his long scoring drought and I’m going to type it was the game winner since Vancouver has only come back in the 3rd period to win a game just 3 times all season and they are 30th in the league in goals in the 3rd period.
And THAT lasted 19 seconds.
I don’t know what’s worse: Dustin Brown’s Alexander Frolov-like miserable season or the fact that the Kings penalty kill failed yet again. Going into the playoffs, I’m as worried as Alfred E Newman.
Distinct Kicking Motion. Okay. I guess it wasn’t. I mean, it never is when it concerns the Kings, right? I mean, it’s Saturday night, it’s after midnight in Toronto. “Aw fuck it, just call it a goal.”
And HOW is that NOT interference on Gaborik? By BOTH referees looking right at the play. Holy shit!
Of course the Canucks win the game late and it really doesn’t matter anyway as the Kings will play the Sharks come April 16th.
No need to smash the TV tonight.
I mean, they only lost it to former King Brad Richardson and for the 3rd time in 19 days lost when leading after 40. No need to worry AT ALL!
Somehow Matt Greene cut the shit out of his foot and didn’t know it. Ew.
By the way, I wasn’t going to mention it, but the Kings with Matt Greene in the lineup… just sayin’
Looks like the Sharks really DO want the Kings as they’re playing like they haven’t recovered from their pounding by the Kings two nights ago. How does a team that’s lost just 6 times at home lose to Nashville who can’t score and isn’t anywhere near the playoffs?
