Wasted Effort in the Desert
There was lots of foreplay but the Kings just couldn’t stick it in.
It was actually a decent game against two teams that like each other about as much as any Kardashian and anyone that’s MARRIED to a Kardashian.
They shot the puck, they crashed the net, they had point blank shots… but Mike Smith who was yanked like a (removed by administrator) last game after giving up 4 goals, wasn’t going to do it again.
So after the Kings scored a touchdown against the Coyotes, they’ve now put up a whalloping TWO goals in TWO games. I hate to beat a dead horse (when’s a better time to beat one?) but Anze Kopitar STILL only has ONE goal in the last THIRTY games.
And how come the Kings have forgotten how to kill a penalty? Do the Kings miss Rob Scuderi THAT much? Maybe it was Brad Richardson! In truth, the Kings continue to take undisciplined penalties and tonight it was as costly as a blind bicyclist crossing a railroad track.
I never thought I’d be saying this… but I kind of like Ben Scrivens play these days more than I do Jonathan Quicks.
I’m not liking Davis Payne these days. His breakouts suck worse than a Tijuana hooker.
Speaking of my whipping boy, how many more asinine offensive zone penalties does Jake Muzzin have to take in order to get Alec Martinez back into the lineup??? My GOD, every game, this guy is doing something even Bart Simpson would consider stupid.
Dan Carcillo was on the power play for Stoll’s goal? I know he’s 3rd line with Brown and Stoll, but that was kind of surprising.
Now the tired, black-and-blue Kings get to play the 10-1 Sharks. Gee, what fun. I’m back to HOPING these days. Let’s HOPE Jonathan Quick can actually STOP a few pucks (Edmonton doesn’t count, they’re awful).
