Who is Traded or Waived This Month?
I had a dream last night that the Kings shocked the NHL by trading Dustin Brown to the Sabres. I hate weird dreams.
There are a lot of good players that will be in training camp.
There are no roster spots available
There’s no cap space available
That’s NOT Dean Lombardi’s style
According to CapGeek, the Kings are OVER by 86,894 which means someone’s got to go! (but according to others, the Kings are UNDER)
If Garon beats out Scrivens, do the Kings still get the cap relief from the Maple Leafs?
Are the Kings simply waiting the see if Willie Mitchell’s knee isn’t made of Play-Doh? (I say it’s more like Gumby)
Did Lombardi not learn from two seasons ago when he let the 4th pick in the draft Thomas Hickey go to the Islanders for nothing? He has the same situation this year with Brandon Kozun. Does the kid at least deserve a chance to earn a legitimate spot? What about Andrew Campbell, whom we’ve been hearing how great he is since he was drafted.
What about Tanner Pearson and Nick Shore or Andy Andreoff? Who gets dealt if THEY make the team?
Hasn’t Linden Vey all but been promised a spot?
And where does Metta World Peace fall in? After all, he did TWEET he was going to play for the Kings this year.
Anyone miss Rich Hammond? Anyone?
Once again, the Kings blow it! Live stream of HockeyFest with NO SOUND for the first 15 minutes. WAY TO GO! The rest of it you had to have hearing superpowers to actually make out if they were speaking English or not. Lombardi at least LOOKED passionate.
There were surprisingly lots of people at the Honda Center for the The Kings rookie game against the Ducks. The Ducks scored first, then forgot how to play hockey as Pearson scored twice, Andreoff scored twice and Deslauriers and Miller scored giving the Kings a 6-1 win and once again sending Ducks fans home crying with shame. Kings killed off THREE 5 on 3′s.
Forbort didn’t win any praise, Andreoff did.
Here are the two (?) fights from last night
With Rob Scuderi gone, will Jeff Carter go back to wearing #7 or does he stick with #77? He was wearing #77 today.
And the reviews for FanFest are in… (courtesy LGK, The Mayor, and others)
“Waiting in line to skate AFTER I got a wristband to not have to wait. Gotta love whoever organized this. I feel bad for the frontline guys that deal with the fallout. Last Fanfest I will ever do. It’s like the DMV taught the Kings how to run things.” – SuperCalo2000
“Fan fest was awful, long long lines for everything. I left early.” – JDKings24
“ Complete joke. So glad I wasted my kids last day of summer here.. Never again..” – rotorhead
“Kid’s press conference was a total laugh riot (as usual)” – stacy
“Kid asks who is the worst player on Anaheim Ducks? Doughty says Perry, Greene and Quick say Dustin Penner …Clifford says ‘They all suck”
“That was the most horribly run Kings event I’ve ever been to. No easy to view signs for what lines are for what, all lines overlapping one another and the wrist band fiasco just to name a few. Who the **** is going to wait in line for 2-3 hours to get Nolan, King, and Ellerbys autograph. They ran out of food after a couple hours and just pissed off people everywhere.” – vargsmal
“Yes the lines were long and it was pretty horribly organized (I expected that) but eventually getting to skate on the ice was AMAZING. Totally a bucket list item for me and that 30 minutes of skating made the day worth it.” – ashhhhley
